The Senior Accountant is a full-time role based in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Taxes: Coordinate with 3rd party tax accountants. Respond to notices. Investigate and provide data as needed. Distribute annual 1099s.
Sales and Use Tax: Ensure company sales tax and use tax compliance. Audit billing software for accuracy. Work on VDA agreements as we expand to new states. Work with AP Specialist to ensure use tax compliance.
Employer Taxes: Work with HR and ADP Payroll team to comply with all withholding requirements. Register with new states and localities as we expand.
Benefits management: Responsible for administration of health, dental, 401k, and other fringe benefits. Ensure accuracy and tax compliance. Work with HR Director to respond to employee questions.
Annual Filings: Work with Cogency to ensure we have all necessary operating licenses and registrations.
Audit Support: Work with the Director of Finance to pull data for quarterly bank reviews and annual audits.
Internal Auditing: Test new operating software for weaknesses. Implement new internal controls as advised by third-party auditors. Balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
AR management: Manage a remote team of AR clerks and design/ implement a more routine AR review and collections process. Reconcile subcontractors known as "Distributors".
Rebate tracking: Oversee rebate and warranty tracking to ensure maximum utilization of available programs.
Payroll database support: Provide support to HR Director inputting, reviewing, and correcting ADP database.
Corporate Information Requests: Respond to corporate requests for information and design/ implement new reports and processes.
Special Project support: Respond to corporate and internal change initiatives. Plan and execute new strategies either by yourself or as part of a larger team.
Accounting support: Train, advice, and support the internal accounting team. Fill in when needed to cover vacations or vacancies.
Warehouse inspection: Visit remote warehouses (NJ, CT, FL, and WA) for periodic inventory count observation and support.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
3 plus years of accounting experience
Strong financial analysis skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to train and manage staff
Ability to work with little to no supervision
