Critical Process Systems Group is Hiring a Buyer - CollabraTech Solutions (CTS) Near Phoenix, AZ

This position is with our company CollabraTech Solutions, where our expertise includes development, prototyping, design-for-manufacture, down-costing, systems integration, maintenance, product extension, and end-of-life planning. Our wide-angle lens on high-tech engineering leverages real-world knowledge as an advanced, in-house contract manufacturing service organization. We know what it takes to make 10 and what it takes to make 1,000, and the rules for each. We also know that a single, hand-built prototype might be a brilliant demonstration unit, but may never qualify for a pharmaceutical production line, or use in aerospace missions.
SUMMARY
The Buyer role at CTS supports the development and execution of a purchasing system for a highly complex manufacturer of Ultra High Purity (UHP) gas and chemical delivery systems and other electro-mechanical integrated systems in an ERP/MRP environment..
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Buyer Responsibilities (Primary)
  • Responsible for ordering of price sensitive materials and to follow through with suppliers on shipment and delivery
  • Ability to negotiate and interact with suppliers on pricing, lead times and demand planning
  • Create and report material shortage information
  • Alternately source critical components in support of delivery challenges
  • Supports BOM & blueprint revision control practices
  • Ability to purchase fabrication services
  • Place PO’s within the ERP system and obtain PO confirmations
  • Define appropriate inventory and purchasing parameters (min order quantities, restocking levels, etc.)
  • Assist in documenting work processes and developing staff
  • Run reports to support date management and demand fluctuation
  • Support category strategy, tactical sourcing projects, and competitive quoting requirements
  • Perform analysis to identify savings, define efficiency improvements
  • Manages performance of purchase orders
  • Prepare RFQ packages, issue RFQ’s to potential suppliers
  • Review quotes and secure the most competitive bids
  • Support Materials management and the company in quality improvements, cost/lead-time reduction and product delivery
Buyer Responsibilities (Primary) - Continued
  • Assists in creating and maintaining supply base performance monitoring process
  • Process non-conforming material requests with suppliers
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Planning / Order Entry Responsibilities (Cross-training / backup)
  • Loads new customer orders into ERP system; acknowledges and confirms customer orders
  • Utilizes Excel to manage Master Schedule milestones and works with the Manufacturing Manager to determine build schedule
  • Takes direction from Materials Manager on release schedules and release Job Orders / Job Routers through ERP system
  • Tracks open issues with new orders and works with Account Management and Project Management to come up with solutions
  • Communicate any required order changes and/or special instructions to manufacturing and warehouse team members.

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), including very strong proficiency in Excel.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, material management or any related field of study is preferred. Equivalent experience in Production Planning/Purchasing within a manufacturing environment is also highly desirable.
  • ERP knowledge and experience with Global Shop Solutions ERP system is a plus.
