Cristo Rey Kansas City High School is Hiring a High School Math Teacher Near Kansas, MO

The Science Teacher will be responsible for instructing students, developing lesson plans, and integrating innovative teaching methodologies to inspire a love for science. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in various scientific disciplines, possess effective teaching skills, and be committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive, standards-based lesson plans in accordance with the school's curriculum.
  • Integrate technology, hands-on activities, and real-world applications to enhance the learning experience.
  • Effectively deliver engaging and interactive science lessons to students at various grade levels.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster critical thinking and scientific inquiry skills among students.
  • Administer regular assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to analyze assessment data and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement and enforce school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and conducive learning space.
  • Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Stay informed about current trends, research, and developments in science education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student progress and address concerns.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events to promote community involvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Science Department and across other disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary connections.
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to curriculum planning and development.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching science at the high school level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
  • Committed to working with under-served students.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Missouri.
