Crisp Regional Health System is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Surgical Associates Near Cordele, GA

Position Summary:

Under the leadership of the Practice Manager/Operations Administrator, the Nurse Practitioner (NP/PA) is an active member of the Physician Services team that delivers medical care consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of Physician Services and CRHS. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing care to patients in the Surgical practice setting including hospital rounding/patient assessment, post-op office visits

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education:

Requires a Master’s degree in Nursing in a Nurse Practitioner specialty or as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

  • Experience:

Requires two to four years of work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:

Requires and maintains current state license as a Registered Nurse.

Requires and maintains current state certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant.

Maintains a current certification in Basic Life Support (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)

Requires and maintains a current valid driver’s license and proof of minimum automobile insurance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient clinical care in an acute or ambulatory setting.
  • Performs appropriate health exams to all age groups, in acute and ambulatory settings.
  • Coordinates care with the physician and health team for best patient outcomes.
  • Provides coverage to Wound Care clinic (including Hyperbaric treatment supervision) at least 25% of scheduled time.
  • Provides appropriate level of clinical and educational services as needed that is age and condition appropriate.
  • Assures high quality care and positive interpersonal skills and works with management to deliver care that delivers high patient satisfaction.
  • Provides assistance to the physicians on epidemiological issues pertinent to the medical office.
  • Assists physician in and/or creates own chart documentation per Hospital regulations and bylaws as indicated for continuity of care.
  • Follows all Physician Services and CRHS policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations and JCAHO requirements.
  • Completes all required professional education including continuing nursing education hours and mandatory in-services to maintain professional licensure.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Standards of Performance:

  • Provides direct clinical care to acute and ambulatory patients in various care settings.
  • Performs appropriate health exams to all age groups, in acute and ambulatory settings.
  • Examines patients with specific acute complaints or stable chronic illnesses, initiates treatment for identified conditions according to written protocol, and works closely with clinic physicians in referring patients with significant abnormal findings.
  • Provides appropriate level of clinical and educational services as needed and that is age and condition appropriate.
  • Assures high quality care and positive interpersonal skills and works with management to deliver care that delivers high patient satisfaction.
  • Participates in education as required through mandatory in-services and acquisition of continuing nursing education, as measured by education and attendance records, and maintenance of professional licensure.
  • Demonstrates adherence to CRHS Standards of Behavior as measured by peer, supervisor and patient observations.
  • Demonstrates reliability as measured by compliance with CRHS Time and Attendance policies.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct by maintaining strict confidentiality, as measured by valid complaints given to the manager or administrator.
