Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Manager, Facilities Management, the General Maintenance Technician is an active member of the Facilities Management team that works to implement the department’s strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction. The General Maintenance Technician inspects, repairs and calibrates new and current electrical and mechanical equipment and systems using test protocols and diagnostic or calibration equipment and manufacturers’ documentation and specifications. This position ensures the safe operation of electrical and mechanical equipment systems and circuits for staff use with patients, visitors and other personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma with an emphasis in vocational technical and shop training. Technical school training in general maintenance electrical repair, HVAC operation and/or maintenance is preferred.
Requires a level of experience normally acquired with a minimum of 2 – 4 years of progressively more responsible work, experience in maintenance/repair in a plant operations environment and with advance 3 to 5 years of plumbing experience.
Requires all appropriate manufacturers’ certifications, and may require state license for plumbing and electrical specialties. Requires a current valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Motor Vehicle Report required upon hire and reviewed annually.
