    Reports: Principal
    Primary Function: Provides appropriate instruction in a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning for all students assigned. Plan and implement effective lessons, using time, materials and resources effectively. Display a thorough knowledge of high school agricultural education curriculum and subject matter. Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students.
    Educational Level: Bachelors Degree.
    Certification/Licensing: Valid GA Teacher’s Certificate or eligible (see rules for obtaining certification) Construction

    1. Option 1: (i) Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent; and (ii) Hold one of the following: a valid Level IV certificate in Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC or Plumbing issued by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER); a valid Level III certificate in Masonry issued by NCCER; a valid Contractor license issued by the Georgia Board of Construction Industry; or a valid Contractor license from the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors; and (iii) Have at least two (2) years of occupational work experience in the field. 2. Option 2: (i) Hold an associate’s degree or higher from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution in construction, construction management, industrial maintenance or a GaPSC-determined equivalent; and (ii) Have at least two (2) years of occupational work experience in the field. 3. Option 3: (i) Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent; (ii) Pass one of the following NOCTI Teacher Assessments: Building Construction Occupations; Cabinetmaking; Carpentry; Electrical Construction Technology; or Plumbing; and (iii) Have at least two (2) years of occupational work experience in the field. 4. Option 4: (i) Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent; (ii) Pass the NOCTI Teacher Assessments in Industrial Maintenance Mechanics or hold one of the following: a valid Level III or IV certificate in Industrial Maintenance Mechanic issued by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER); (iii) Have at least two (2) years of occupational work experience in the field.
    CTAE education:
    Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills, student management, supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to employ a variety of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners. Ability to deal with multiple tasks, computer competence, organizational and interpersonal skills.
    Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.
    Salary: Georgia/Local Certified Salary Schedule – 10 month position
    GENERAL
    Demonstrates appropriate verbal and written communication skills.
    Performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision.
    Participates in extracurricular activities and/or serves on designated committees.
    Demonstrates loyalty to the school, school system and administrators.
    Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
    PROVIDES APPROPRIATE INSTRUCTION
    Provides instruction at an appropriate instructional level with content development and building for transfer for students assigned to the teacher.
    Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies and resources appropriate for students assigned to the teacher.
    Assesses and encourages student progress by promoting engagement, monitoring student progress, responding to adequate and inadequate performances and showing support of students in an appropriate manner.
    Manages the learning environment by using time efficiently, maintaining an effective physical setting for instruction and maintaining appropriate student behavior in the classroom.
    Provides adequate information, plans, and materials for substitutes.

    Participates in professional organizations and staff development activities.
    Shares information with others and applies what is learned to the classroom.
    Accepts new challenges in a professional manner.
    INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
