Job Description

Director of Accounting- Facilities Services
As the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for coordinating the general accounting function of the Facilities Services line of business. You will manage a team and oversee the month-end close, account reconciliation processes, maintenance of internal controls and support internal and external audit procedures. You will interact with different departments across the organization including all levels of leadership and report directly to the US Controller. You will have the opportunity to be part of an innovative accounting team that drives process improvement within the business and group and provides valuable insight through the interpretation of data. In addition, you will help develop accounting strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations for strategic thinking and direction that are in line with business and organizational objectives. Please note this role will be a hybrid schedule – 3 days per week in the Aramark HQ in Philadelphia, PA. 

Job Responsibilities

• Develop accounting organization strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishes functional objectives in line with organizational objectives
• Manage day-today accounting activities, oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, and review monthly financial packages including balance sheet and understanding of income statement fluctuations 
• Develop and maintain and strong understanding of the financial systems and procedures and implementing changes and improvements to increase accuracy, control, and timely reporting.
• Provide key technical accounting judgments and policies, including oversight, implementation, and execution of new accounting guidance
• Oversee and provide support for internal and external audits
• Develop and enforce internal controls, such as segregation of duties, to protect company assets and ensure adherence to policies and procedures, reducing the risk of fraud and errors while increasing operational efficiency. 
• Collaborate with Finance leadership on cross-functional initiatives to ensure adequate support and alignment with line of business goals
• Identify areas for process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and streamline systems for greater productivity 
• Conduct special accounting projects as needed to support the accounting organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA is preferred, but candidates with strong relevant experience in an accounting or finance role are encouraged to apply
• 8 years’ experience in progressive roles in accounting or finance (Big 4 or public accounting experience strongly preferred), with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role
• Ability to train, mentor, manage and motivate the team through an evolving environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Ability to work with various levels of leadership and to influence others without formal authority.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
• Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize work, and establish and execute plans to meet tight deadlines
