Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accounting Manager to join our dynamic accounting team in a fast-growing organization with strong technical skills, database building experience, and some tax background. The ideal candidate will be proficient in tools such as Power Query, have expertise in transactional accounting, and strong technical accounting skills with a focus on ASC 805 and ASC 842. This role requires a self-starter who has experience with equity accounting within a complex organizational structure. This individual will have overall responsibility for all top-tier entities, with a primary focus on our operating company and consolidated financial reporting that includes a portfolio of subsidiary companies. This is a hands-on role that requires someone who can support both high-level complex accounting and finance responsibilities as well as dive into the details on a day-to-day basis.

Key Deliverables

• Day-to-day ownership of all transactional accounting related to corporate entities, including transactions that impact partner financial statements (Equity, Net Working Capital etc.)
• Maintains GAAP-compliant financials for external reporting purposes, and prepares monthly consolidated financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cashflows)
• Leverage Power Query and other tools to extract, transform, and deliver financial data for reporting and reconciliations
• Demonstrates some tax background, with the ability to research and navigate tax compliance inquiries and deadlines

Position Responsibilities

• Review and analyze transactional accounting activities to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP, while identifying areas for process improvement to streamline transactional accounting functions
• Demonstrate advanced technical accounting skills, particularly in ASC 805 (Business Combinations) and ASC 842 (Leases), and staying abreast of evolving accounting standards to ensure timely implementation of changes in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee equity accounting processes, by collaborating with accounting team and partners to ensure accurate recording of equity transactions
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in accounting processes, leveraging Power Query and automation tools where applicable for reporting and reconciliations
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to assist in adherence to tax deadlines

Position Requirements

Minimum

• 8 years of Accounting or Finance experience with a focus on technical skills, tax compliance, and equity accounting
• 4 years of experience in an Accounting Manager or similar role
• Active CPA license
• Power Query experience
• Knowledge of ASC 805 and ASC 842
• An ownership mindset with a high degree of accountability for accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with both financial and non-financial audiences
• Experience in a fast-growing company or similar dynamic environment
• Detailed-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance

Preferred

• Public accounting experience
• Construction industry experience
• Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum
