Reporting to the CQO, the clinical informaticist is the hospital liaison between the electronic health record (EHR) and the end-users (i.e., Medical Staff and Clinical Departments). Responsibilities include:
1. Medical Staff and Clinical Departments
2. EHR orientation
3. EHR upgrade and maintenance and meaningful use compliance
4. Documentation development of processes and workflows to improve patient care. Collaboration with Information Systems Department, develop reporting and data collection tools to support clinical departments and patient outcomes. Additional duties as assigned when needed.
BSN required. Degree in clinical informatics or RNBC (Board Certified by the ANCC in nursing informatics) preferred.
Alabama Board of Nursing RN Degree. Current RNBC if no degree in clinical informatics, preferred.
