Positioned on the corner of the beautiful Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, VA the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, is seeking an IT Manager. This is a full-time position that is eligible for incentive pay.

Overview:

Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at the location. This includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24-hour trouble shooting support for all system servers
  • Provide day to day trouble shooting support for individual workstations, local printers, network printers and network cabling
  • Act as a liaison between the Hotel, CHRI Corporate and Hardware purveyors to communicate hardware issues and needs, installation of new hardware, negotiate any hardware maintenance agreements and keep departments informed of advances and developments that may assist with their responsibilities
  • Provide day to day trouble shooting support for other software systems (including but not limited to: Hotel Information System [HIS] Property Management System [PMS], Amadeus, Microsoft Office Applications, Microsoft Server, M3, Micros, Proliant, and Uniguest systems)
  • Act as a liaison between the Hotel, CHRI Corporate and Software purveyors to communicate software issues and needs, installation of new software, ensure compliance with Anti-Virus Software, Spyware, Malware, Security threats, etc.
  • Negotiate any software maintenance contracts and keep departments informed of advances and developments that may assist with their responsibilities
  • Maintains awareness of changing trends and regulations which might affect the hotel’s information technology needs, and act on as required
  • Analyzes complex business needs presented by the hotel staff and/or clients and recommends and/or implements technical solutions.
  • Represents the IT function at pre-con and post-con meetings, when appropriate
  • Responsible for knowing and abiding by all department, Crestline and hotel policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or similar) from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) to five (5) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge, and ability. 
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks. IT experience within the hotel industry is strongly preferred.
  • Must have good understanding of the English language.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor
