Landscape Grading & Install Crew Leader

Job Description

To help maintain and grow this standard, we are seeking hardworking crew leads to execute the landscaping needs of our customers. As an ideal candidate, you will have a good attitude, be willing to learn and try new things, and able to overcome daily challenges and changes. You will be skilled and/or be trained in driving a truck and trailer; working with hand tools, power equipment and other landscape equipment (blowers, trenchers, and skid steer); working in the field in a variety of conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) and you will be skilled and/or trained in grading, site preparation, plant, sod and ground cover installation tasks. Additionally, you will display a proven ability to work with others to maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team. Your ultimate responsibility is to execute tasks assigned by the management staff.

Objectives of this Role

• Be a leader and engage your workforce.
• Own the project assigned by management from beginning to end and ensure that its quality and completion is your highest priority.
• Execute any and all landscaping tasks assigned by management staff.
• Maintain trucks, trailers and equipment used during the execution of daily tasks.
• Work with other crews and management staff to keep shop and laydown yard organized, clean and presentable.

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to operate a truck and trailer safely.
• Able to start, operate, maintain and troubleshoot basic landscaping equipment. (blowers, trenchers, etc.)
• Able to use and maintain hand/manual tools. (Shovels, rakes, wheel barrows, tamps, etc.)
• Able to use and maintain construction tools. (Compressors, trenchers, skid steer/attachments, etc.)
• Ability to grade and prepare a site for installation. As well as complete basic installation tasks like sod, plants, mulch and pine straw.

Requirements

• Positive attitude and desire to learn.
• Minimum of 45 hours per week.
• 6:20 am start time Monday – Friday.
• Ability to work Saturdays when needed.
