Responsible for assisting with food preparation, dining room service, dishwashing and kitchen cleaning.

REPORTS TO: Head Cook

Tasks

1. Performs all duties as may be assigned by the Director and Head Cook.

2. Assists cooks with meal preparation, as directed.

3. Performs kitchen and dining room cleanup duties after meals.

4. Operates the dishwashing machine to properly wash and sanitize all dishes, silverware, glasses, utensils and cooking equipment.

5. Puts away food and supplies after delivery, following established rotation policy and procedure (first in – first out).

6. Maintains an organized and sanitary dishwashing area. This includes keeping the work table, sink and floor neat and clean, as well as emptying the refuse containers after each meal according to policy and procedure.

7. Must be able to adapt to a variety of job duties and situations; able and willing to work flexible hours, such as emergency situations.

8. Works scheduled shift including overtime, scheduled weekends, holidays and rotating shifts when necessary.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists in suggesting menu or recipe changes so that leftovers and any over-stocked items are used in a timely manner.

2. Assists in monitoring inventory control.

3. Performs other duties assigned by Head Cook or Second Cook.
