Job The purpose of the Analyst, Credit Reporting Furnishing position is to support the Manager, Credit Reporting Furnishing with the resolution of credit reporting furnishing-related activities. The responsibilities include compiling and reviewing credit reporting data from the Metro 2 file, in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Metro 2 format. Accurately and timely completion of assigned manual processes, supporting ad hoc requests assigned by your leader, and assisting with projects that may impact the method and manner in which the Company performs its credit reporting responsibilities and furnishes credit reporting data.

Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
  • Review internal and external reports related to the Metro 2 data furnished to the credit reporting agencies, document findings, track metrics and escalate potential issues
  • Create organized tracking and summarizing of data gathered including tables and graphs
  • Perform Tradeline Testing to validate the accuracy and integrity of the data furnished
  • Identify trends, account for changes in Metro 2 file
  • Update open tasks in Service Now as needed
  • Support remediation efforts by performing actions assigned by your leader.
  • Review available credit reporting exception reports and document findings.
  • Assist with periodic audits
  • Support Company sponsored projects by ensuring all necessary assigned project tasks are completed within specified deadlines and requirements/expectations
  • Identify and action process improvement opportunities
  • Monitor for training opportunities to increase knowledge and skills related to furnishing, Metro 2 format

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Become a subject matter expert in Metro 2 Format and Company processes that impact credit reporting
  • Ability to manually calculate Metro 2 fields (i.e. Current and Past Due Balance, Account Status, DOFD, etc.)
  • Understand flow of data between systems as it relates to the flow to Metro 2 file: CAPS, Customer Hub, Artiva, OFSLL to create the Metro 2 file data
  • Understand CRA translation of Metro 2 data
  • Communicate clearly
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify anomalies and analyze potential root cause
  • Develop an understanding of bankruptcy laws and processes.
  • Solve problems while working individually and collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • FCRA Certification (within 90 days of hire)
  • Familiarity with Credit Reporting Agencies and Metro 2 Format
  • One year experience with internal credit reporting processes and OFSLL Metro 2 requirements or;
    • One year Credit Reporting Compliance experience or two years of Credit Reporting dispute resolution experience or and;
      • Consistent quality results that demonstrate high level of proficiency with understanding and resolving dispute investigations (as measured by QA scores and opportunities identified by other teams)
      • Productivity metrics that demonstrate ability to work efficiently
  • Ability to clearly communicate (both written and verbal) with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and think strategically
  • Ability to manually calculate Metro 2 fields (i.e., credit reporting balances, Date of First Delinquency, Account Status, Payment Rating)
  • Basic knowledge of Chapter 7 and 13 specific bankruptcy laws, processes, and consequences of non-compliance
  • Experience in e-OSCAR, Artiva, and OFSLL
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

Preferred:

  • One year experience with internal credit reporting processes and OFSLL Metro 2 requirements
  • Experience analyzing data
  • Experience analyzing Credit Reporting Agency metric and error reports
  • High Level Excel skills including formulas, charts and graphs

Targeted Compensation: $26.68 - $35.58/hour plus an annual bonus plan
