What You'll Do:

As an Accounting Manager leading the Accounting team, you will oversee tax-related accounting and general ledger activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP for accounting transactions. You will be responsible for preparing/reviewing GL account reconciliations, managing the monthly close process, and providing financial reporting. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving and communication skills and thrives in a challenging environment. In this role, you will:

• Coordinate with outside consultants to provide necessary financial information for tax preparation and filing, reviewing tax returns for accuracy before submission.
• Manage tax-related inquiries from both internal and external sources, investigating issues and ensuring timely delivery of required documents.
• Maintain the Company's compliance status in relevant states, promptly addressing any issues with registered agents.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist in the development of financial statements and reports.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the business structure, financial reporting, and the general ledger to facilitate intercompany AR & AP reconciliations.
• Enhance the efficiency of the accounting team through cross-training, sharing responsibilities, and serving as a backup for other team members.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure accurate accounting treatment for transactions.
• Develop and maintain internal accounting controls, systems, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Document policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and expedite reporting.
• Support month-end analysis and reporting requirements, as well as ad-hoc projects.
• Lead the assessment of technical accounting matters, researching and documenting complex transactions, and coordinating the adoption of new standards.
• Play a key role in the annual audit process with external auditors.

Qualifications of the Accounting Manager

• CPA Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience in process improvement and familiarity with Intacct and Avalara preferred.
• Understanding of accounting concepts related to the SaaS industry preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and seek solutions proactively.
• Strong attention to detail and business ethics.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience, including Big 4 and corporate accounting roles, preferably in the technology industry, with increasing responsibilities and leadership.
• Intaact ERP experience a plus!
