Creative Dining Services at the Dordt University campus in Sioux Center, IA is looking for a part-time Cook for in the Dining Hall. Morning shift Monday - Friday with an every other Weekend Rotation. Our team at Dordt University delights in making the best food we can with authentic recipes. Each day is different and exciting. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about cooking and serving people. The cook works cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary.

Core Responsibilities:

• Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
• Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
• Maintain a safe, tidy and well-organized work environment at all times
• Follow established work rules and regulations; ready for work in the kitchen, in uniform, at the scheduled time
• Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Minimum of 2 years cooking experience, preferred but not required
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• ServSafe Certification, preferred
