Summary: The Safety Coordinator, being an internal employee, is assigned to prevent accidents, respond to emergencies, and evaluate the effectiveness of CRCD Enterprises safety programs. A safety officer identifies safety hazards, investigates them thoroughly, and controls them before someone gets hurt.

The Safety Coordinator ensures compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines.

Your primary role will be advising on measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment. Vigilance in identifying violations is crucial.
Detailed orientation is essential, especially during emergencies.

Your objective is to establish a workplace that meets legal safety standards and cultivates a culture of prioritizing health and safety.

Safety Coordinator main roles in CRCD Enterprises are:

Planning

The Safety Coordinator will plan and oversee safety and tailgate departmental meetings. Safety Coordinators must work with

Departmental Heads to create a safe environment by making sure they have all the necessary equipment for their team. You must ensure that employees have all the required things for their teams.

An example of this would be ensuring team members have all the necessary tools to finish their work safely, such as PPE.

Organizing

As a Safety Coordinator, you are also responsible for organizing employee’s workload so that no harm will come to them or anyone else during their work activities. You will make sure that employees can complete the tasks without causing any damage to the workplace or anyone else.

Supervising

Finally, safety officers are responsible for supervising everyone who works under them to ensure that they are doing their work safely. When supervising, make sure that each person knows their role in the process and where they fit in.

As a Safety Coordinator you handle a broad range of tasks, including various first-aid procedures and safety checks on equipment. You will work with departmental managers, leadership staff and vendors to help set up and operate emergency equipment correctly.

Safety Coordinator responsibilities in CRCD Enterprises are:

  • Support the development of OHS policies and programs.
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
  • Initiate and organize OHS training for employees and executives.
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non- conformity (e.g., not using protective equipment)
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Safety Coordinator are required to have minimum an associate degree in a related field but bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, health and safety management or similar fields is preferred.
  • OSHA’s Safety and Health Fundamentals Certificate Program.

Language - Demonstrated ability to:

  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.

Math - Demonstrated ability to:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning - Demonstrated ability to:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
