Overall Job Objective

The Technology Planning Manager is responsible for daily oversight and management of technology systems used by the Authority, including training of staff and data reporting.

Essential Job Functions

·Oversight of all technology systems including those used for fixed route, shared ride, maintenance, route planning, computer systems, phone system, etc.

·Train employees in use of technology systems.

·Research and provide input into new or upgraded technology products

·Liaison with technology vendors and their support personnel

·Assist with data cleanup and correction for reporting purposes.

·Provide data reports as requested to support operations, maintenance, finance, and planning

·Lead the process of fixed route planning which includes use of technology to assist with the process. This process is done in coordination with members of the Planning and Operations Teams

·Understand and comply with Authority Employee Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures

·Works well with other employees and departments to achieve organizational objectives

·Attends meetings, training, events and seminars as required.

·Communicates with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

·Must maintain confidentiality regarding personnel information, Authority information and other records.

·Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision from the Assistant Executive Director or his/her designee.

Working Conditions

·Subject to frequent interruptions.

·Periodically works beyond normal work hours as duties may require.

·Occasional travel to attend meetings, seminars, training and conferences or other duties as may be necessary from time to time.

Physical/Mental Requirements

·Must be able to complete work requiring concentrated mental effort and attention to detail (including mathematical calculations, use of common and specialized word- and data- processing software programs) with minimal re-work or errors.

·Ability to apply understanding and problem-solving skills to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions.

·Ability to deal with problems in a constantly changing environment.

Qualifications

·Completion of a related bachelor’s degree program or equivalent education/experience

·Two years transit experience

·Experience with computer programs including Word Processing and Spreadsheet operations

·Experience with state and federal transit regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

·Ability to communicate (verbally and written form) professionally and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and with external contacts (including the general public).

·Superior interpersonal skills.

·Must possess solid organization skills.

·Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.

·Flexibility with regard to changing job priorities.

·Ability to perform multiple tasks and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.

·Must demonstrate ability to complete job duties in a timely manner, with reasonable accuracy and minimal re-work to correct errors.

·Must possess general knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, and ability to utilize common office equipment, including personal computers.
