Recycling Parts Washer "System One" Technician
Job purpose:

The System One Service Technician provides routine, diagnostic, and repair services to parts washer recycling units. The technician must maintain equipment in good working order and diagnose and repair equipment as needed. This position supports the Company’s operations department. Compensation commensurate with experience and capabilities.

Duties and responsibilities:

Driving

Operate vehicle in safe manner without violations.
Inspect equipment daily for maintenance and wear.
Notify supervisor of any repairs or maintenance required.
Complete logs as required.

Equipment Service

Service equipment as required and as instructed.
Perform diagnostics and repair as needed.
Deliver and install equipment for new clients.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Manage solvents and waste solvents according to federal/state regulations.

Paperwork/Administrative

Interact with customer regarding services rendered and issues as they arise.
Interact with customer in a respectful and friendly manner.
Complete bills of lading and manifests.
Maintain paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
Communicate with dispatch regarding services.
Communicate with supervisor regarding customer issues.

Operations

Work with operations regarding loading/unloading service vehicle.
Assist operations as needed and as requested.
Occasionally work in operations performing other tasks.

Qualifications:

The following are some of the skills and qualifications that are required for the position.

Qualifications include:

High school diploma.
Basic math skills.
Clean driving record.
Ability to obtain and maintain DOT medical card/clearance.
Ability to use small tools such as ratchets, wrenches, etc.
Ability to use a VOM for electrical troubleshooting.
Basic understanding of air pressure, vacuum, pump operations.
Ability to complete paperwork accurately.
Ability to think logically.
Good reasoning skills.
Good social/people skills.
Attention to detail.
Good mechanical skills.

Working conditions:

This position works in outdoor and indoor environments, automotive service, and repair shops, and in industrial manufacturing facilities. The atmospheric conditions may include cold and warm temperature extremes, humidity, and occasionally mist oil or dusty environments. The position may require some lifting and some pushing or pulling when placing or removing equipment. The position also requires driving a non-CDL service truck of less than 26,000 pounds. This position may also assist Operations department with other tasks and activities that may be outdoors, both covered and uncovered areas.

Physical requirements:

This position requires the ability to drive a service vehicle of less than 26,000 pounds and to obtain a DOT medical clearance card. This position requires seating while driving for up to three to four hours, depending on customer location. This position requires standing for two to eight hours per shift, depending on work to be performed and location. This position requires the ability to push/pull parts washer units on pallet jacks, lift equipment, use mechanical tools such as wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, and power drills. This position requires the technician to be in awkward positions such as kneeling, squatting, or lying occasionally when troubleshooting or replacing faulty equipment within the parts washer unit. This position requires good hand dexterity.
