Position Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Records Specialist to join our team at Craft Body Scan. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate management, organization, and protection of patient medical records.

Ideal candidates will be characterized by their enthusiasm for providing excellent service, their comprehensive and compassionate approach to patient communication, and their commitment to professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualified candidates will:

  • A compassionate and comprehensive approach to patient communication, ensuring engagement and understanding.
  • Professionalism in demeanor, punctuality, and courtesy, along with exceptional interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong sense of discretion and professionalism, especially in handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with a willingness and ability to learn and effectively utilize additional business systems. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is highly preferred.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of correspondence and records management.
  • Highly organized with proven time management skills to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred, showcasing an understanding of medical terminology and healthcare operations.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, organize, and manage patient reports and charts, including gathering necessary information and documents directly from patients.
  • Ensure that medical records are consistently organized, accurate, and complete, adhering to all regulatory and company standards.
  • Create, manage, and store digital copies of all necessary paperwork, transitioning physical records to electronic formats for improved accessibility and security.
  • File all paperwork and reports promptly and accurately, supporting the administrative needs of the clinic.
  • Assist with front desk operations, including answering phones, patient check-in, and data entry tasks, to facilitate a smooth patient experience.
  • Support medical billing processes by providing accurate and timely records and documentation.
  • Strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, especially those related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), to maintain the confidentiality and security of all doctor, staff, and patient information.
  • Perform additional duties as required, always using discretion while handling sensitive information and working within the framework of the facility's guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates’ degree in medical Billing or Health Information Technology (Preferred)
  • Office/Billing experience: 1 year
  • Proven experience in medical billing and records management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in medical billing software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
