Account Executive, Special Events & Theme Days

POSITION SUMMARY:

Promote Rockies Baseball through the sale of tickets with an emphasis on Theme Days and Special Events. Build, schedule, design, promote, market, sell, and execute over 25 theme days, from start to finish. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-season/In-season

  • Manage all details of planning Special Events from start to finish to ensure smooth day-of execution (Star Wars, Brew Fest, Movie Night, University Series, Dinger Day, Bark at the Park, etc.)
  • Design and manage the build of rockies.com/themes and all specific theme landing pages
  • Manage ordering, design, purchase, quality control, budget for all theme day items and events
  • Manage and assist handing out of promo items for all theme nights
  • Manage training and staffing for all theme nights that need extra assistance
  • Coordinate with other departments on theme day logistics (promotions, corporate sales, broadcasting, ballpark operations, grounds crew)
  • Design, coordinate, and implement communication campaigns for all emails (push, redemption, thank you)
  • Maintain accurate files and records for Special Events Budget
  • POC for collaboration events – aiding in date selection, promotional item design and quantity, day of game contact, etc.
  • Generate new sales ideas, strategies, policies, and theme nights
  • Evaluate group’s performances to aid in future sales
  • Submit for Purchase Orders, Purchase Requisition, Invoices in a timely manner using Concur
  • Receive promotional items upon delivery, quality control, storage and preparation for given event

Off-season

  • Assist the Group Sales Sr. Manager and Groups Department staff with preparing year-end department review
  • Establish dates and pricing for upcoming season’s events
  • Research and design new theme night promotional items
  • Research and design new theme night ideas and develop in depth proposals for each
  • Develop and establish new contacts through lead generation and prospecting
  • Maintain waiting list of new clients for upcoming seasons events
  • Assist with revision of existing marketing collateral

General

  • Conduct all appointments in a professional, efficient and effective manner
  • Return all phone calls and emails promptly
  • Help plan and participate in annual Group Leader Awards Event
  • Assist other areas or departments as needed
  • If needed, maintain accurate records of mileage and expenses; submit on timely basis
  • Assist in day-to-day training of all new staff members
  • Assist in overseeing annual and daily operations (event marketing, renewals, general FAQs) to ensure that our department is operating efficiently
  • Manage and delegate alternate hotlines and inboxes (GroupTix, Bark at the Park)
  • Calculate percentages for tasks such as sales discounts, markups, and strategies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization and throughout the community
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience, preferably with ticketing or within the sports and entertainment industry
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or sports management, and/or combination of equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a role requiring mathematical skills preferred.
  • Event Management and/or Coordination experience preferred
  • Responsible individual with consistent work ethic
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Archtics experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical requirements (lifting boxes, standing/walking for long periods) 50 lbs.
  • Strong ability to work well with co-workers, supervisors and other departments in a team environment

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Off-Season schedule: Monday through Friday; 8am to 5pm. Limited Hybrid/Work from home opportunities
  • In- Season schedule: Monday through Friday; 8am to 5pmAdjusted to accommodate game day responsibilities
  • In-Season duties require working many weekend home games and occasional evening scheduling
  • 40 hours/week expected during busy months (June and July)

SALARY RANGE

  • Base compensation range is $50,000 - $55,000. In addition to the base pay, this role offers the opportunity to earn a commission on top of the base compensation, providing a total compensation range of $50,000 - $80,000/year. Total compensation is determined by candidate experience and generated revenue.
  • This is a regular status, full-time position eligible for all company benefits including but not limited to Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision), Retirement, and accrued time off (Vacation/ Sick/ Holiday).
