CPV Manufacturing is Hiring a Buyer Near Kennett, PA
The primary responsibility of this position is to purchase materials for manufacturing as well as supplies and services for the facility. Build and maintain strong internal & external supplier relationships to achieve continuous improvements in delivery, quality, and cost.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure Operations has an adequate flow of material as needed for manufacturing of parts while also keeping inventory levels at a minimum.
Negotiate prices and contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Find opportunities to negotiate term discounts.
Collaborate with other departments to determine supply needs
Works closely with Manager in analyzing quotations for standard stock buys and non-standard procurements.
Purchase raw materials including bar stock, forgings, castings, and other parts necessary for the production of valves and fittings.
Assist accounting with invoicing discrepancies
ISO Owner of Purchasing requirements. Manage the purchasing ISO process documents and ensure that the government flow downs are handled correctly.
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Manage Traceability Of Raw Materials To Meet Company RequirementsKeep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications including updating the company on any changes to material industry specifications.
Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity.
Qualifications:
Skills:
Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
Strong problem solving/analysis skills.
Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
Decision making skills
Must be familiar with Word, Excel, and be capable of learning the company manufacturing / planning module.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning/materials controls/manufacturing/purchasing function or equivalent combination of education and experience.
An interest in manufacturing and product realization is key.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
The work environment is a blend between office and manufacturing environment.
Noise may be moderate with industrial noise
