CPM is Hiring a Development Director Near Menomonee Falls, WI

Continental Properties is looking for an experienced project manager to join our home office team as a Development Director.

You will partner with members of a cross-functional team and determine project strategy, as well as manage due diligence, entitlements, and permitting of new multifamily communities. You will lead negotiations directly with municipalities and collaborate with external partners as you oversee development activities on multiple developments in different stages of the project lifecycle. As a Development Director you will report to our Sr. Development Director.

This team member will be working from our home office location in WI (relocation provided).

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Determine project strategy and risk assessment for each opportunity
  • Complete all due diligence required to move a project from development into construction
  • Obtain all municipal entitlements – zoning, site plan, development plan approvals and permits
  • Work directly with local officials, community partners, land owners, and legal representatives to manage project risks and bring projects to a successful completion
  • Work as an important member of an internal development team that includes staff from several other disciplines – acquisitions, construction, legal, finance, accounting, market research, and property management

Skills for Success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Business, Architecture or related field required.
  • Five plus years of related project management experience required
  • Demonstrated successful project leadership experience in real estate development
  • Understanding of environmental issues including wetlands and floodplains
  • Familiarity with zoning and other municipal codes
  • Experience working with surveys, traffic studies, civil and architectural plans, and utility companies
  • Excellent public/one-on-one presentations, persuasion, and negotiation skills
