CPG Talent Management is Hiring a Senior Finance Manager - Plant Controller Near Columbia, SC

Join us as a pivotal member of our plant leadership team, where you'll play a critical role in shaping the financial landscape of our facility and driving impactful change.

Role Overview: As the Plant Controller, you'll be an integral part of the plant leadership team and the trusted right hand to the Plant General Manager. You'll lead the financial function at our facility, ensuring operational efficiency and a well-controlled environment. Collaborating closely with both plant and corporate teams, you'll spearhead initiatives to develop standard product costs, streamline month-end close activities, optimize budgeting and forecasting processes, and uphold ERP/General Ledger control assurance. Your strategic insights and analytical rigor will drive improvements in efficiencies, optimization, and strategic financial planning.

Core Duties:

  • Operational Support: Partner with plant operations to ensure accuracy of production records, develop labor costing models, and drive a continuous pipeline of productivity projects.
  • Process Management and Controls: Oversee plant compliance processes, maintain financial and operational controls, and manage audit control testing protocols and procedures.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Review P&L accounts, provide critical insights on changes vs budget/forecast/prior year, ensure inventory accuracy, develop management reporting for review with plant and corporate leadership, and lead year-end financial activities.
  • Standard Costing and Variance Analysis: Lead the creation of standard costs and variance planning for annual budget and periodic forecasts, develop cause of change analytics and reporting, and manage standard costs for all WIP and finished good items.
  • Team Development and Resource Management: Provide training to team members, assess resourcing needs, and build/update resource contingency plans to support business objectives effectively.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • 8 years of finance and accounting experience
  • Experience within supply chain and manufacturing required, experience within consumer goods preferred.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting and standard product costing, including experience with complex bills of materials and labor costing models.
  • Proven success in analyzing financial data to recommend business efficiencies, optimize production and labor, and lead financial business strategies.
  • Strong ability to handle large amounts of data and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Adaptability to changing business needs while maintaining focus on executing daily and monthly responsibilities with precision.
