Job Summary
The Coordinator Respiratory Care is member of the healthcare team who is responsible for assisting the shift supervision of the Respiratory Care. The Coordinator Respiratory Care can divide the therapy and staff for the department on a shift by shift basis. The Coordinator Respiratory Care will participate in special projects to meet the needs of the department as assigned by the Supervisor RRT. The Coordinator Respiratory Care actively participates in clinical care of patients and responds to emergent clinical situations throughout the facility.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Program
Preferred Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Experience
Required: Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
Skills
Divides workload and provides direction and answers staff’s questions.
Provides care as appropriate to age of population served.
Proficient in safely providing all routine and emergent respiratory modalities.
Assess patients and provide patient care per protocol. Provide accurate and appropriate electronic documentation.
Provide accurate and appropriate education to patients, students and new staff.
Able to assess workload and divide effectively among the entire shift team.
Possess assessment and critical thinking skills.
Possess in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Able to act as a professional resource for patient assessment, respiratory care plan and respiratory diagnostics.
Participate in special department projects as assigned by the Supervisor RRT.
Adheres to infection prevention practices and facility safety policies and procedures.
