Summary
Job Summary
The Team Leader RRT provides professional respiratory focused intervention during all phases of the patient care stay. The Team Leader RRT can provide care throughout the hospital locations within the system. The Team Leader RRT is responsible to divide the therapy load for other team members. The Team Leader RRT is a professional resource for the healthcare team. The Team Leader RRT assesses and assists in the determination of a respiratory plan of care based on physical assessment, diagnosis, and patient history. The Team Leader RRT provides medicated and non-medicated therapies, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen administration and titration, diagnostic testing as related to ventilation and pulmonary function as well as arterial blood gas analysis.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Program
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Experience
No prior experience required
Skills
Provides care as appropriate to age of population served.
Proficient in safely providing all routine and emergent respiratory modalities.
Able to assess patients and provide patient care per protocol.
Provide accurate and appropriate electronic documentation.
Provide accurate and appropriate education to patients, students and new staff.
Able to assess workload and divide effectively among the unit team.
Possess assessment and critical thinking skills.
Possess in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Adheres to infection prevention practices and facility safety policies and procedures.
Able to communicate effectively to act as a professional resource to the health care team.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Missouri State License for Respiratory
RRT credential from the NBRC
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training will vary within the areas in which you are assigned:
Obtain BLS within 90 days of hire for all areas
Obtain PALS within 365 days of hire for working in the Pediatric floor and in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Obtain ACLS within 365 days of hire for working in critical care unit
Obtain NRP within 365 days of hire for working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
