PURPOSE

Responsible for providing leadership and supervision of MA Apprenticeship program and apprentices. Duties include coaching, motivating, staffing, evaluating, and training employees. Works closely with Learning & Development, clinic leadership, management team, physicians, and staff to assure learning. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides leadership and supervises MA Apprentices.
  • Interviews prospective apprentices and communicates with Operations Project Manager and Human Resources throughout the hiring process.
  • Responsible for evaluating, coaching, motivating, counseling, scheduling, training apprentices. Promptly escalates any issues or concerns to the Operations Project Manager.
  • Promotes teamwork and fosters a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for reviewing and correcting employee time. This includes entering all time edit changes, contacting apprentices if punches are missing, making sure that the time is allocated to the appropriate department and signing off by deadline. Maintains records of attendance and time off requests.
  • Partners with both Learning & Development as well as clinical leadership to schedule all training including online and clinical rotations. Communicates schedules with apprentices and all involved parties. Promptly communicates any changes or updates to schedules to appropriate parties.
  • Communicates with staff on an ongoing basis and updates them on all procedure changes, etc.
  • Receives information on updates and changes in the clinics and communicates appropriate information to staff.
  • Sends weekly check-in forms to preceptors and gathers feedback to share with Operations Project Manager.
  • Distributes Preceptor and Apprentice handbooks to appropriate individuals.
  • Sends weekly email to clinic supervisor/preceptor to inform of skills the apprentice is to focus on during clinical rotation.
  • Performs regular skills check-in with each apprentice (in-person or via phone).
  • Responds to inquiries about program via email and phone calls.
  • Ensures transfer requests have been sent to Human Resources by apprentices for desired clinic placement by due date.
  • Performs additional training with apprentices that require additional assistance with learning skills.
  • Partners with Learning and Development to schedule and coordinate graduation celebration.
  • Coordinates and communicates with external entities as appropriate regarding apprentices and program.
  • Maintains current information on apprentices and keeps in regular contact with each apprentice.
  • Role models and communicates organizational goals and values for the staff.
  • Measures performance by using established standards and tools to evaluate performance of staff.
  • Maintains a friendly rapport with apprentices, supervisors, managers, and others.
  • Prepares monthly reports.
  • Attends nursing operations meetings and other meetings as needed.
  • Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
  • Regular and dependable attendance.
  • Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on ARC SharePoint.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Assists operations by taking on other assignments, whenever necessary, for the efficient operation of the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Required: High school diploma or GED. Two (2) or more years of healthcare related experience. Experience using Microsoft Office programs.

Preferred: Medical Assistance experience strongly preferred. Experience using EPIC. Supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of current local, state, and federal employment/labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Access.
