Covenant House of NJ is Hiring a Service Manager AC Near Atlantic City, NJ

Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing the delivery of services to youth in the Atlantic City Crisis Center with absolute respect and unconditional love. This is accomplished by developing case plans and overseeing their development through the direct supervision of the Youth Advisors.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee all case plan activities.
  • Provide direct weekly supervision of the Youth Advisors
  • Provides staff training, coaching and evaluates assigned staff in a timely manner as required.
  • Manage payroll and use of labor. Manage and evaluate time off requests and approve as appropriate, approve time-off requests.
  • Manage Petty Cash fulfilling reconciliation responsibilities while maintaining all instruments of cash or value in a secure designated location.
  • Ensure adequate staff coverage to effectively serve the young people. Respond to call-offs while on shift and arrange for adequate coverage for the Crisis Center and ROP when needed. Communicate to appropriate supervisors when call off occur.
  • Ensure that effective case plans/progress is developed, implemented and reviewed.
  • Arrange youth medical appointments as needed
  • Ensure medication count and logs are accurate and maintained.
  • Provide appropriate documentation/maintenance of case files and ensure that intakes, discharges, and assessments are completed and entered into ETO.
  • Conduct case management meetings and case reviews within the required timeframes.
  • Attend community events and meetings as needed and assigned.
  • Manage aspects of the kNOT (Neighborhood Outreach Team) when assigned.
  • Ensure that the needs of youth are met at all times and that structure with flexibility is maintained.
  • Participate in providing DLC programming to enhance youth engagement while also encouraging and supporting Youth Advisors to do the same.
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings and contribute data concerning the department as well as collaborate on the review of agency goals, policies, and other issues under discussion.
  • Manage the intake process by monitoring and responding to the youth waiting list to ensure immediacy.
  • Inform Director of Programs - AC Crisis Center of all unusual situations affecting youth safety/security and program operations.
  • Report and document in ETO critical incidents in a clear, thorough, and timely manner and notify appropriate leadership.
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures and Child Protection standards.
  • Ensure that the residential units and all common areas are maintained clean and monitored working with facilities to ensure a level of maintenance.
  • May be subject to be a part of the Manager on Duty Rotation
  • Assists as needed with fundraising affairs and special events which may be conducted outside the employee’s normal work schedule.
  • Required to check company e-mail daily.
  • All other duties assigned by management staff
  • Applicant Must be available to work the following schedule: Sunday thru Thursday 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM; Friday & Saturday off
Required Experience:
  • A Bachelors’ degree in a human service field or related field, preferred.
  • Four years of experience working with youth is preferred.
  • A valid New Jersey driver’s license with an insurable driving record is required.
  • Excellent oral, written, organizational, motivational and assessment skills
  • Must Be fully vaccinated for Covid 19
