Courageous Transformations is Hiring a Revenue Cycle Supervisor Near Albuquerque, NM

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the financial success of our organization by managing the revenue cycle process efficiently and accurately. Under supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager, this position will oversee the daily billing operations of the clinic. This role will work closely with clinicians and staff within the clinic to assure the clinic is functioning properly and is delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Efficiency: Assists in implementing health management activities in accordance with regulatory, contract standards and accreditation compliance.
  • Functions as a “hands-on” supervisor, assisting with assessing and evaluation of systems, as well as day to day billing operations.
  • Performs accounts receivable reimbursement analysis and denial management activities for all payers/accounts using monthly aged account work queues and/or A/R reports.
  • Oversight: Assists with staff Performance Appraisals, ongoing monitoring of performance, and application of protocols and guidelines. Collaborates with and keeps the leadership team apprised of operational issues, staffing, resources, system and program needs.
  • Responsible for identifying and documenting insurance payer issues as they arise. Must communicate all issues to teammates and leadership.
  • Responsible for maintaining files containing all pertinent information for each account to include correspondence, EOBs, claims, letters of appeal, medical records etc.
  • Must be an effective team member with good communication skills.
  • Must participate in team meetings, communicate work related ideas and concerns proactively, and assist in finding appropriate resolutions.
  • Responsible for contacting insurance companies, patients, and employers regarding outstanding claims.
  • Responsible for providing any information (medical records, itemized statements, etc.) required by insurance companies to overturn denied claims. Must maintain a system to ensure timely follow-up is completed for each outstanding account.
  • Maintain status reports consisting of outstanding accounts.
  • Must work and document the report according to policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for following up on all accounts listed on the report until resolved.
  • Refer accounts, in accordance with Courageous Transformation policies to Manager for write-off, or agency or attorney referral. Refer difficult accounts to Manager for advice and/or assistance.
  • Must work closely with all outside agencies contracted with Courageous Transformation and assist them with account resolution for any accounts.
  • Cross train in the various areas of accounts receivable and accounts payable to be completely familiar as they relate to collections.
  • Updates to leadership and staff in weekly meeting.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to successfully write reports, business correspondence and policy.
  • Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with physicians, managers, employees, clients, vendors, and the general public.
  • Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and correct errors.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance policy (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures, operating agreement, business office standards and recommended practices.
  • Ability to identify and implement opportunities to improve performance within the practice.
  • Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
  • Exhibit leadership characteristics when influencing, motivating, managing, training, counseling, and developing staff to work towards their highest level of function.
  • High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.
  • Excellent customer service skills: ability to anticipate, recognize, and meet the needs of patients and their families.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, EMR, as well as any other application(s).
  • Associates degree in healthcare administration or health services administration

A minimum of five years of directly related experience managing and leading teams in a healthcare environment, including planning, organizing, and directing work to meet organizational goals in an ambulatory clinic or physician group practice. Two years must have been a in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or health services administration
  • Has a background in behavioral specialties.
  • Proficient in medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical office operations and procedures.
  • Familiar with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
