Multiple vacancies with the Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency. This recruitment will establish an employment list to fill current and future bilingual and non-bilingual vacancies that may occur in multiple locations throughout Tulare County. The anticipated life of the list is six months. Spanish bilingual designated positions are entitled to an additional $.63 (cents) per hour. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Manage a caseload involving determination of initial and ongoing eligibility for one or more public assistance programs; interview and assess applicants to assist them in completion of application and declaration forms upon which eligibility decisions are based; gather information to determine eligibility to receive public assistance; interpret regulations and program requirements and communicate these to applicants and the public; review applications and declarations for accuracy, completeness, and consistency; determine eligibility in accordance with established procedures and record information on case records; prepare case narratives, memos, correspondence, and other documentation; refer applicants and recipients who appear to need social services to designated social services staff after completing appropriate forms; prepare and maintain documents, case records, reports, files, and logs associated with the eligibility process; use of computers or other automated eligibility determination systems to determine client eligibility for public assistance; advise applicants, recipients, and the general public concerning rights and responsibilities associated with receipt of public assistance; compute amount of public assistance authorized and perform other similarly required computations; refer applicants or recipients who appear physically or emotionally unable to continue the interview to designated social services staff; may review, evaluate, and investigate selected assistance cases and appeals; determine and approve eligibility and exemptions; manage a full caseload; contact and interview applicants and representatives of businesses or government organizations for the purpose of verifying facts; determine the accuracy and completeness of all statements of fact completed by clients during eligibility determinations; provide information, counseling, resource materials and other assistance to help clients obtain and retain jobs, no-cost or low-cost health care, nutritional assistance, or other community resources; identify, analyze, and evaluate each variation of fact and substantiate pertinent eligibility information; prepare written reports with recommendations for appropriate corrective action when additional facts affecting eligibility are established.
