The Riverside County Department of Office on Aging seeks a Supervising Nutritionist I who will be located in Riverside, CA.

The selected Candidate will lead over the Nutrition Business Unit supporting Cal Fresh and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as well as community development activities. The Supervising Nutritionist I will implement, coordinate, promote, and evaluate the nutrition component of the nutrition education program. The incumbent will also be tasked with providing on-site nutrition consultations, counseling, and planning and reviewing menus for nutrition at multiple sites. Additionally, the Supervising Nutritionist will perform other related work as required.

Incumbents in this classification report directly to a Supervising Nutritionist II, Public Health Program Director or other management classifications.
We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in ensuring evidence-based guidelines are integrated and collaborate closely with sub-contractors (Food Operations) to enhance the Older Adults nutritional needs and to support the strategic goals of the food operations section.
• Knowledge of Human nutrition principles and their relationship to health and disease.
• Worked with diverse populations that have social, cultural and economic problems of individuals and families as they apply to public health nutrition.
• Knowledge of principles of Older Adults education and staff development.
• Counseling techniques as related to the field of nutrition.
• Working experience with nutrition programs such as CalFresh and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
