Role Overview
Performs intermediate human support work assisting and advising patrons, developing and presenting programs, scheduling and publicizing programs, and related work, as required. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Youth Services Librarian. This will be an active role for Summer 2024. Duration of the role will last 12-14 weeks with an end date in July 2024.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General knowledge of library procedures, methods, and techniques; general knowledge of and interest in books, including reader interest levels; general knowledge of the needs and reading interests of children; thorough knowledge of office procedures and records maintenance techniques; skill in the use of library equipment, materials, and resources; ability to interact with children of varying ages, both individually and in group settings; ability to conduct entertainment and education programming and performance skills; ability to meet the public with poise and self-assurance; ability to deal tactfully and courteously with library patrons; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and patrons.
Education and Experience
Associate Degree from an accredited college or university. Minimal experience working and interacting with children. Other equivalent education and work experience may be considered in meeting the minimum education and experience requirements.
