The Extra Help Employee - This position will assist with performing a variety of tasks related to state agriculture and weights and measures requiring both office and out of office tasks to be performed.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about modern office practices and the ability to understand and follow directions both orally and written. This person will also have basic knowledge of life and natural sciences.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
One year of increasingly responsible technical and clerical experience, or completion of 24 semester units from an accredited college or university in business or science related course work.
TRAINING:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
Possession of a valid California Driver License.
SICK LEAVE:
Up to 24 hours per year of paid sick leave. Up to 48 hours of paid sick leave maximum accrual.
SHORT TERM DISABILITY:
The County coordinates with State Disability Insurance for regular employees.
RETIREMENT:
The County is in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) which is coordinated with Social Security. Unused accrued sick leave can be converted to service credit at retirement. This applies only to PSE’s who work more than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year.
