GENERIC POSITION SUMMARY

Meal Driverwill assist in the support of the Senior Program and Senior Meal sites. Respond to requests to transport seniors to and from meal sites, senior sites, appointments, and field trips. Responsible for picking up and returning van to county yard or designated county facility. Service vehicle, add fuel as needed, and wash exterior and clean interior of the van. Assist with coordination and set up for meals. Substitute in absence of drivers or site supervisors. Order supplies and equipment. Deliver meals to homebound senior citizens.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Respond to requests to transport seniors to and from meal sites, senior sites, appointments, and field trips.
2. Responsible for picking up and returning van to County yard or designated county facility, service it, add fuel as needed, and wash exterior and clean interior of the van. 
3. Assist with coordination and set up for meals. Able to substitute in absence of drivers or site supervisors. Order supplies and equipment. 
4. Deliver meals to homebound senior citizens. 
5. Pick up and/or deliver supplies when needed. 
6. Attend meetings as a representative of the department as assigned. 
7. Arrange transportation for special events and transports program participants in multi-passenger vehicle as needed. 
8. Perform other duties as assigned. 

Under limited supervision of Lunch Program Coordinator, the Seasonal Summer Program Meal Driver will perform lunch delivery/lunch service at designated County lunch sites in accordance with federal rules and regulations. 
 Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for providing and coordinating lunch delivery at assigned lunch sites.
2. Responsible for providing and coordinating lunch service at assigned lunch site.
3. Responsible for carrying out Federal program guidelines and ensuring rules and regulations are being followed.
4. Enforce rules of facility and ensure the safety of the participants.
5. Assist with maintenance duties, and setting up areas for program use.
6. Perform and maintain written records as required.

1. High School Diploma or GED, and must be at least 18 years old.

Screening and Compliance The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:

1. Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination.
2. Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.
3. Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license by employment date.
4. Will receive skills training in basic first aid and CPR.

Working Conditions

1. Employee will be exposed to natural weather conditions when working outdoors.
2. Duties will be performed on sand, gravel, asphalt, grass, wood floors, and tile, all of which may be wet or dry.
3. Required to drive multi-passenger vehicles as needed.
4. Required to work variable hours.
5. Work hazards are those normally encountered in the instruction or participation in sports activities.

Equipment, Tools and Materials

1. Equipment typically used in performance of maintenance duties include mops, brooms, buffer, and window cleaning supplies.
