County of Anson is Hiring a NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR Near Wadesboro, NC

Description

ANSON COUNTY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGYNETWORK ADMINISTRATORSalary Grade: 76 ($60,485 - $98,498)Compensation commensurate with experience.

General Description of Duties

Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to design, organize, document, modify, install, and support a countywide computer network. The Network Administrator will support and modify LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments. Work includes operation and maintenance of multiple networks; analysis and installation of a variety of hardware and software applications; troubleshooting and resolving problems; identifying appropriate training courses; and maintaining operational systems. Mentor and provide second level support to Help Desk Technician. Assist the Information Technology Director by providing technical and administrative direction over a specified area of responsibility. An employee in this class follows the procedures and instructions outlined in the Information Technology Department. Performs related work as directed.

Essential Functions

· Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.

· Ensure network (LAN/WAN) connectivity throughout the County’s managed SD-WAN

· Configure, Install, and administer Meraki and Cisco Switches

· Configure, install, and administer Meraki Wireless Access Points.

· Administer and maintain a Microsoft Windows 2019 Active Directory domain

· Install, configure and maintain physical and virtual network servers in a Microsoft Hyper-V environment.

· Install, configure and maintain end user VoIP telephones.

· Maintain and improve IT Help Desk ticketing system, and work assigned tickets as needed.

· Analyze and troubleshoot computer, telephone, printer and network issues

· Provide network, PC, and VoIP phone support to end users.

· Install and maintain network and PC hardware and software.

· Perform related duties as directed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

· Monitor and maintain network security

· Develop and test network contingency operations plans

· Develop documentation for various network procedures

· Be a mentor, and provide second-level support, for Help Desk Technician

· Administer and maintain Office 365 in a synchronized Azure Tenant

· Configure and maintain various network peripheral systems such as security camera, access control, and fuel management systems

· Administer and maintain cloud-based third-party applications

· Evaluate and adjust computer and network performance. Maintain/improve the existing wired and wireless network infrastructure.

· Work with local telecom providers as needed to troubleshoot and improve existing phone and internet services.

· Administer Windows and Linux based servers, Windows 10 based desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, software deployment, security updates and patches.

· Maintain network connectivity of a Windows 10 based computer environment.

· Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.

· Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.

· Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, antivirus software and intrusion detection systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

This position requires considerable knowledge of:

· Current computer technology in hardware, software and various applications and configurations.

· Microsoft Server 2019 Active Directory

· How computer technology can be integrated into the environment for a variety of applications and purposes.

· SQL Database.

· Customer service, vendor and project management.

This position requires the ability to:

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, County officials and vendors.

· Explain technical issues to non-technical personnel with a conversational delivery

· Analyze, diagnose, and solve computer hardware, network and application problems.

· Plan, supervise and coordinate a variety of special computer projects.

· Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Requirements

Minimum Training and Experience

Requires a minimum of an Associate's Degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferrable) in an Information Technology related field and/or two (2) years of experience of computer networking, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience is preferrable, but not required. Must have a valid Driver’s License. Must be to occasionally lift or move boxes or equipment weighing from 20-50 lbs. Must occasionally climb ladders to run cables or install equipment.

Special Requirement:
On-call availability for critical mission Public Safety computer systems.
