Responsibilities:

• Have a thorough knowledge of curtain wall, storefront, aluminum entrances, and various other glazing systems.
• Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, self- directed, excellent computer skills, working on small to large commercial glazing projects.
• V-6 and/or GDS estimating software.
• Assist bid coordinator with ITB’s.
• Able to read plans and develop material costs, work with vendors to gather pricing, lead times, etc.
• Communication with General Contractor/ Construction Manager until Letter of Intent or Contract.
• Review contract scope, dollar value, and confirm bid document dates, then turn project over for legal review by Ownership.
• Upon contract approval turn project over to the assigned Project Manager and help get submittals started.
• Assist Project Managers with change orders on projects ranging from $20K up to $5M as needed.
• Maintain relationship with General Contractor/Construction Manager through-out close documents.

Requirements:

• Have the ability to read, interpret, understand architectural drawings, and specifications.
• Perform take-offs, obtain vendor quotes, verify accuracy of same, and prepare bid spreadsheet.
• Prepare scope of work with exclusions and clarifications; prepare budget requests as needed; must be able to handle multiple estimates concurrently.
• CAD knowledge preferred, assemble submittals with the help of Project Manager.
• Must be a good communicator, organized and detail oriented.
• A self-starter with the ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
• Capable of estimating small projects up to $5MM.
• Ability to help with bid strategy is preferred. Labor estimating and/or Engineering background are a plus.
