Registered Nurse – Triage Location: Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center

Salary:$39.62 – $59.15 Per hour, payable bi-weekly. The salary scale for this position is between steps 0 and 19, depending on experience. This is an exempt union position. This is a part-time position, and weekly hours will be 20 hours. Applicants must pass an extensive background check.

About UsCountry Doctor Community Health Centers (CDCHC) is a not-for-profit organization that operates two primary care clinics, an After-Hours Clinic, two School-Based Health Centers, a low barrier Medication-assisted treatment clinic, and a Dental Clinic. Our Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center was founded in 1970 by the Seattle Black Panther Party in Seattle’s Central District. Our Country Doctor Community Clinic was established in 1971 by residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood in conjunction with the Seattle Liberation Front. The primary goal of each clinic was to provide low-barrier, high-quality healthcare services and promote social justice.

What You’ll Be DoingAs our Triage Nurse at CDCHC you’ll be an important part of our multi-disciplinary health care team. You’ll use stellar interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability to talk with patients, assess their health care needs, and determine how best to address them. You might provide immediate nursing advice, arrange for provider visits, or independently see patients for issues such as wound care, immunizations, and medications. It takes a special person to remain calm while taking in a lot of information, sharing empathy, making decisions, and recordkeeping in a short time frame, for many patients each day. You’ll need these qualifications.

• You hold a current RN license from WA state
• You have experience providing care to medically underserved populations
• You interact and work well with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
• You’re comfortable working with Microsoft Office, Google products, and on personal computers

It would be nice if

• You have at least two (2) years of clinic nursing and triage experience and have case management experience.
• You bring experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) software
• You can read, write, and speak Spanish to provide interpretation for our patients
