Painter-General Laborer Job Description

Country Creek Builders, Inc. is a family-owned business, established in 2009 as a general contracting firm specializing in commercial & high-end residential remodeling. Country Creek Builders will strive to maintain a staff of skilled, motivated and confident individuals with a desire to help promote the company's mission.

  • This position requires a minimum of 4 years of painting experience

Primary Painting Responsibilities (not limited to):

· Apply paint to surfaces including walls, doors, trim, ceilings and cabinets

· Mix, match and apply paint, stain varnish and other finishes

· Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection

· Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives

· Remove fixtures such as door knobs, electrical switch and outlet covers as necessary

· Apply second coats as needed or required

· Apply touchups as needed

· Remove paint splatters when finished

· Utilize spray guns when required

· Work on ladders when required

· Other general construction labor tasks as assigned by job site lead when no painting is required including but not limited to Demo, framing, trim work, general carpentry etc.

General Responsibilities

1. As an employee of this company you are expected to represent the professional image of this company as follows:

a. The standard workday is Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though the work week fluctuates based on the volume of work and specific deadlines; some weekend work, but limited. Be on time to work every day, calling before the start of the workday if illness or family emergency prevent your attendance that day.

b. We would like this to be a career choice as opposed to a job. We expect that you will take on the responsibility to learn and demonstrate knowledge and ability to advance and we will provide opportunities for you to demonstrate this to the best of our ability.

2. It is every employee's responsibility to be productive on the job site. If you have completed an assigned task, ask to be given another, or preferably, use your initiative to suggest another task. If the Job Lead is busy use the time well by cleaning up, stocking materials, etc.

3. Safety is important on many fronts. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of those working with you. You must learn the safety practices of this company and adhere to them.

4. Timecard Reporting is done through an APP and each employee is required to punch in and out on the App.

5. At times, you will be asked to work independently. This will require attention to detail, quality and an ability to stay on task until finished.

6. In the absence of the Job Lead, due to illness or attending to other responsibilities, you are responsible for working with other employees, remain on task and are productive. At times, this will mean assigning new tasks in the flow of work.

Customer Satisfaction

1. Keep the job clean.

a. Broom clean on a daily basis.

b. Vacuum clean at the end of each week.

c. Respect clients property and home

d. Wear company provided shirt and pants without rips or holes

Job-Site Supervision

1. Arrive on the job site as directed by lead or owner. Normal start time is 8:00 A.M.

Monday through Friday; some weekends are required with advanced notice.

2. Take lunch and breaks as directed by your Lead to ensure a safe job site.

3. Create a working environment that brings the best out in other employees and that uses time as efficiently as possible.

4. Install all dust, safety and security protections before any work is started on the project.

5. Enforce all company policies regarding safety, foul language, drugs, drinking and smoking. If someone continues to violate these policies, it is your responsibility to report them to your supervisor.

6. Enforce all company safety policies and provide safe conditions for both workers and clients.

7. Do not perform any work not in the contract, and/or assigned by lead or owner,

8. Protect the client's property from theft, damage, or weather related loss.

9. Maintain a clean job site

10. Remove large quantities of debris on a daily basis or as needed.

11. Never use a client's property or tools.

12. All tasks assigned by Job Lead include but are not limited to:

a. Cleaning site – materials stacked neatly, floors cleaned, tools put away, yard cleaned, trash piled neatly,

c. Installing dust protection before work begins & maintaining it

d. Tool setup and break down each day

e. Taking part in all training opportunities

f. Learning by watching, asking questions and participating in the work

Painting Laborer:

1. Know and understand all plans regarding painting and staining of projects

2. Work with other company painters

3. Get answers to questions when plans and specifications are unclear.

4. Complete all work related to painting and other work generally done by this company including but not limited to:

a. Painting – Interior

b. Painting - Exterior

c. Staining – doors and trim

d. Prep for painting including masking off walls, trim and doors as needed

e. Installing painter’s poly to project areas of home as needed

f. Filling nail holes in trim that is to be stained or painted

g. Experience spraying wood is preferred

TOOLS:

All Country Creek Builders owned tools & equipment must be maintained and returned to storage when not in use. Report any faulty equipment to Job Lead

BENEFITS:

All full time employees working at least 30 hours per week will receive medical, dental, basic life, LTD and 401K benefits. Restrictions apply.

Qualifications
- Proficient in using hand tools for painting and construction tasks
- Experience in construction painting, including knowledge of different techniques and materials
- Familiarity with construction estimating and color theory to assist in project planning and execution
- Ability to read blueprints and understand construction plans
- Skilled in plastering, renovation, basic math, carpentry, drywall installation, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, and other related tasks
- Any certifications or training related to painting, construction, or relevant skills would be a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.80 - $26.26 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
