HIRING EVENT HOSTED AT ALOFT HOTEL at 393 W. 46th St. KCMO 64112. August 24th from 11a - 2p. On the spot interviews for a variety of openings! 

The highly anticipated Cascade Hotel Kansas City: a Marriott Tribute Portfolio is about to take center stage on the Country Club Plaza, Kansas City’s most sought after entertainment district. Boasting 177 guest rooms, 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a two-level restaurant plus rooftop bar, this hotel is destined to become the ‘go to’ spot in Kansas City. 

We are in search of a Laundry Attendant Supervisor that will play a key role in getting this property across the finish line. If you are experienced, innovative, tenacious, and ready to make your mark - we want to hear from you. 

The Laundry Attendant Supervisor reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager and is responsible for performing and/or supervising laundry staff to perform the following:

Requirements

  • Responsible for ensuring that all hotel laundry is being processed appropriately and according to required guidelines in order to maximize the team’s overall productivity and expectations.
  • Maintain an adequate number of turns of linens to meet the hotel’s needs on a daily basis as well as forecasted basis for the next 2-3 days.
  • Sort dirty linen and terry.
  • Operate washing/drying machines according to proper procedures and required chemical programming and guidelines.
  • Fold, stack, and store linen in compliance with hotel standards.
  • Process stained linen and terry per recommended process and chemical usage in order to try and recover some of the laundry.
  • Process damaged linen for discard according to hotel standards.

Essential Requirements 

  • Supervise laundry attendants.
  • Prompt and regular attendance - the hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day so ensuring that scheduled shifts are being met and worked.
  • Laundry department will schedule shifts to accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work, and overtime as required.
  • Minimum availability of 16 hours per week for part-time employees. 
  • Comply with hotel and/or department uniform and professional appearance standards as well as behavior standards as specified in the employee handbook.
  • Carry out all reasonable requests by Housekeeping Manager and/or other management team leaders and act as a team player with all levels of staff.
  • Review and approve personal electronic timecards weekly for payroll accuracy.
  • Ensure that all laundry production and processing is being completed within the required time frame and logged accordingly.
  • Participate in the monthly laundry inventory process.
  • Attend any mandatory scheduled meetings.
  • Complete any other assignments, tasks or duties as requested by the Housekeeping Manager.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand; regularly use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk and hear. The associate is regularly required to reach up or down with hands and arms. The associate may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. May be exposed to cleaning chemicals so becoming familiar with MSDS sheets is crucial. This is a fast-paced position working in high heat at times.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and team members.
  • Previous hotel laundry or housekeeping experienced preferred.
  • Ability to pull and push heavy loads of laundry via the use of laundry carts.
  • Ability to bend, lift and reach when performing work duties.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a high heat environment.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High school diploma/GED 
  • Must be willing to complete drug screen and background check in accordance with federal and state laws.
