About the Job:

We're excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Community Relations Manager! Under the supervision of the Vice President, Community Relations, the Community Relations Manager manages various community relations activities and programs to include community events, financial literacy programs, chamber and partnership sponsorships, in support of the Bank’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial community relationships. 

The hiring range for this position is $58,000 to $65,000.

This position is Full Time, 40 hours weekly. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May be Assigned):

  • Manages the Bank’s Financial Literacy Program, “Money School”, including teaching in-classroom programming, creating educational content, managing the coordination of classroom programs with various stakeholders. Manages Credit for Life, The Next Step Fairs and related deliverables. Maintains related content on the website and other marketing materials in support of the programs and performs outreach to stakeholders.
  • Serves as a community champion by attending and supporting events throughout the year, including Bank sponsored community and Chamber events, and corporate sponsorship activations. Captures content at events and posts to social media platforms on a regular basis. Serves on non-profit committees with a focus on CRA opportunities to support the Bank’s efforts to increase CRA outreach. Serves on the CRA Subcommittee. 
  • Coordinates community events activities. Works with all related stakeholders and event volunteers to ensure all necessary supplies and items are delivered to support events. Communicates all the necessary event information to stake holders to ensure a successful event. Manages the Bank’s community events calendar, including creating workflows, reporting, and performing user maintenance. 
  • Supports the Bank's Founding Partnership with the Worcester Red Sox, and other corporate sponsorships. Coordinates the WooSox game schedule and ticket transfers, as well as the Most Valuable Teacher and WooStar submissions and coordination of selecting winners. Supports Police vs. Fire and any other partnership related programs. 
  • Assists in the management of the Bank’s Chamber Memberships to ensure all sponsorship opportunities are utilized. Manages the fulfillment of various advertising related placements for Chambers and Sponsored Events or Programs.
  • Supports the Bank’s annual donation processes and requests by reviewing submissions, researching previous support and providing the information in Smartsheets for decision making.
  • Collaborates with business partners on internal promotions of community relations programs. Works collaboratively with the stakeholders across the organization to promote products relating to Money School, including Greenlight, Choice Savings, Student Checking accounts and related programs. Provides community relations content for Home Base on an ongoing basis to promote events and internal and external programs.
  • Manages the Difference Maker’s Market, including coordinating items in WinSource, fulfilling item orders, manages invoices and works with Human Resources to promote the store and new items on Home Base.
  •  Maintains professional contacts and knowledge base of the changes in the financial industry and keeps up with issues, trends and developments.
  • Responsible for building long-lasting relationships with customers, community and colleagues through the embodiment of our Core Values: Integrity, Service, Teamwork, Excellence and Prosperity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

This employee must have outstanding interpersonal skills, and be able to work equally successfully as an individual contributor and a team collaborator. This employee should have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to manage sensitive subjects with tact, kindness and professionalism. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, along with ability to make effective presentations in group settings. This employee will interact with the community on a consistent basis and must evidence and portray the Core Values of Country Bank. Knowledge of basic marketing, financial literacy principles, and principles of the Community Reinvestment Act are preferred. 

This position requires intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. InDesign or Photoshop skills are preferred. 

Education and Work Experience

An Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required, while a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of related work experience is also required, such as marketing, community relations, or public relations. Candidates with an existing professional network within the Country Bank footprint, experience serving on community committees, and prior financial services experience are strongly preferred. 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

This position is primarily in an office environment, which means the physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards, with a moderate level of noise. Prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen with freedom of movement on a regular basis is expected. Minimal physical effort is required but could include: repetitive motion of wrists and fingers; talking and hearing; and handling of light materials and supplies. 

This position does require some travel between offices and community partner business sites, as well as setting up events, which could require pushing, pulling, standing and reaching overhead, talking, walking, bending, climbing stairs, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
