Counterpart International, Inc. is Hiring a Communications Officer Near Arlington, VA

Overview

Counterpart International is seeks a Communication Officer to support strategic objectives of the organization. The communications officer will report to the senior director, communications. The position will be based in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of the communications and engagement strategy for the organization
  • Produce content for social media and use it to engage with stakeholders
  • Update the organization’s website to ensure current and accurate content
  • Manage vendor relations
  • Compile monthly newsletters
  • Draft and edit stories
  • Maintain the email database
  • Assist in the production of collateral such as brochures, fact sheets, banners, and more

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree and 1 year of relevant

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong editing and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Commitment to working with diverse student and community groups
  • Experience with social media best practices/trends, (Twitter/Instagram/Facebook/LinkedIn)
  • Experience with Drupal, MailChimp,
  • Knowledge of content management system
