Overview
Counterpart International is seeks a Communication Officer to support strategic objectives of the organization. The communications officer will report to the senior director, communications. The position will be based in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of the communications and engagement strategy for the organization
- Produce content for social media and use it to engage with stakeholders
- Update the organization’s website to ensure current and accurate content
- Manage vendor relations
- Compile monthly newsletters
- Draft and edit stories
- Maintain the email database
- Assist in the production of collateral such as brochures, fact sheets, banners, and more
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree and 1 year of relevant
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong editing and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Commitment to working with diverse student and community groups
- Experience with social media best practices/trends, (Twitter/Instagram/Facebook/LinkedIn)
- Experience with Drupal, MailChimp,
- Knowledge of content management system
