ABOUT THE COSANTI FOUNDATION

Founded in 1965 by Paolo and Colly Soleri , the Cosanti Foundation (TCF) is an Arizona-based nonprofit educational 501(c)(3) organization that operates two world-famous, open-to-the-public locations: Cosanti in Paradise Valley and Arcosanti near Mayer. The Cosanti Foundation also owns and operates the for-profit Cosanti Originals, where we make our world-famous bronze and ceramic wind bells and other artisan items which supports our ongoing efforts. Originally established to support Paolo Soleri's noted architectural and urban planning concepts and research, the Foundation exists to explore the theory of arcology (architecture ecology). TCF’s current mission is “to inspire a reimagined urbanism that builds resilient and equitable communities sustainably integrated with the natural world.”

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Cosanti Foundation is in search of an upbeat, hardworking, dishwasher for the Café at Arcosanti

in Mayer, Arizona. You will be responsible for maintaining kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in a sanitary, clean, and orderly condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Operate the dish washing machine.

· Wash all pots, pans, trays, worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.

· Sweep and mop kitchen floors.

· Separate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers.

· Steam clean or wash out garbage cans.

· Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.

· Maintain effective communication with fellow team members.

· Participate in team safety training.

· Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a hot environment.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED and related experience.

• Dishwashers must have a Food Handlers Card.

• Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent

• Have the ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.

• Due to the unique nature of the TCF built environment, ability to ascend/descend stairs and move safely over uneven terrain.

• Prolonged periods standing.
