Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science, a commitment to student success, and the ability to engage and inspire young learners. As a Science Teacher at our charter school, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students' understanding of science concepts, fostering problem-solving skills, and preparing them for academic success.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging and rigorous science curriculum aligned with standards and school objectives.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and empowered to participate.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and integrate science concepts across the curriculum.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to support student success and well-being.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in science instruction and pedagogy.
- Contribute to the school community by participating in school events, committees, and extracurricular activities.
- Deep understanding of science concepts and proficiency in teaching a range of science topics.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license in North Carolina preferred.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a charter school or diverse educational setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
