Job Title: Middle School Math Interventionist
Reports to: Middle School Director

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Middle School Math Interventionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education, experience working with diverse student populations, and a passion for helping struggling learners succeed. As a Math Interventionist at our charter school, you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support to students who require additional assistance in mathematics, helping them build confidence, improve skills, and achieve academic success.
Responsibilities: 
  • Identify students in need of math intervention support through data analysis, teacher referrals, and observation.
  • Develop and implement personalized intervention plans tailored to the specific needs of individual students.
  • Provide small-group or one-on-one instruction to students, targeting areas of difficulty and building foundational math skills.
  • Utilize research-based instructional strategies and interventions to support student learning and progress.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other interventionists to coordinate support services and ensure alignment with classroom instruction.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, adjusting intervention plans as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and teachers to provide updates on student progress and recommendations for additional support.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress monitoring data, and student outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in math intervention strategies and best practices.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture by participating in team meetings, professional learning communities, and school-wide initiatives.
Essential Knowledge: 
  • Strong understanding of math intervention strategies and techniques, including differentiated instruction. 
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques for measuring student progress in mathematics. 
Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/license in North Carolina preferred. 
  • Previous teaching experience at the middle school level, preferably in a charter school or diverse educational setting.
