Corus is seeking a Director, Revenue & Reporting to join its Finance and Administration Department. This position may be based in our Washington, DC or Baltimore, MD office and is hybrid remote working two days each week in the office with Tuesday being a core office day.

The Director, Revenue & Reporting reports to the Global Controller and is responsible for leading international accounting operations, revenue recognition and reporting. S/he ensures robust systems, policies and procedures are in place and maintained in accordance with U.S. federal regulations, international funding requirements, and organizational financial priorities. The Director, Revenue & Reporting contributes to departmental strategies and objectives; and will represent the Global Controller as needed.

Responsibilities:

General Accounting, Audits & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure the monthly close and financial statement package is produced.
  • Direct the indirect cost rate calculation, trend analysis and modeling.
  • Direct and contribute to the consolidated annual audited financial statements presentation.
  • Direct and coordinate the preparation of mid-year forecast and annual budget.
  • Direct and coordinate budget modifications throughout the fiscal year.
  • Direct and coordinate the preparation of IRS Form 990s and other statutory reports.
  • Produce accurate and timely Schedule of Federal Awards and other required reporting for year-end.
  • Track planned and actual use of cost share for accurate reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy of revenue recognition.
  • Monitor for major fluctuations in actual indirect cost rates (NICRA) monthly.
  • Lead USG drawdowns and internal/external billing.
  • Lead the TRNA monitoring and reconciliation process.
  • Review entity elimination and consolidation entries for accuracy.
  • Develop and deliver accounting and finance related training.
  • Provide and lead support as needed for external and internal audits.
  • Ensure quality reporting and periodic reviews of internal controls.
  • Ensure preparedness for annual external audits to avoid delays.

International Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Standardize overseas finance functions, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely submission of SF 425 and other required reporting requirements.
  • Perform detailed analysis on international operational activities and financial data.
  • Conduct scenario and financial modeling to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly and year-end closing processes for overseas accounting.
  • Direct the Financial Planning and Systems team to ensure activity reports are accurate and timely.
  • Monitor the accuracy of accounting data from country offices.
  • Improve monthly and annual processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure the reconciliation of field office books with the audited general ledger and address discrepancies promptly.

Leadership, Relationship Building and Coordination

  • Mentor and lead the Financial Reporting and Revenue Management team.
  • Inspire and guide team members to meet objectives within timelines.
  • Engage with cross-departmental teams to coordinate financial matters and foster cooperation and achievement.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of staff and departments.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships and influence stakeholders effectively.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management

  • Contribute key data and analysis to internal management reports.
  • Lead periodic budget variance analysis and financial reporting.
  • Ensure quality control of accounting transactions.
  • Design and implement enhanced report delivery systems to field offices.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as needed.

Manage Systems and Process Improvements

  • Lead system-level integration and process improvements to ensure quality, efficiency and excellence.
  • Manage the integration of systems such as QuickBooks, MIP, and Phoenix.
  • Lead MIP/ERP administration.
  • Identify and implement improvements in Phoenix, QuickBooks Enterprise, and MIP.
  • Contribute to the implementation of a new ERP system to enhance operational efficiency.

Supervisory

  • Supervises the Financial Reporting and Revenue Management team to include three Senior Accountants and one MIP and Systems training lead.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA/CMA/CACMA/CA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant and progressively responsible experience.
  • Experience must include a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Experience with U.S. and international accounting standards for non-profit and for-profit organizations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial and compliance issues to non-financially trained audiences.
  • Ability to produce informative reports and presentations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficiency with general ledger applications (QuickBooks and MIP preferred), and other database enterprise systems required for supporting international operations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and the confidence to make independent decisions, while keeping Global Controller informed of important matters.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or French is a plus.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • The physical requirements that may be needed to execute responsibilities may include bending, standing, and walking, etc.

Working Conditions, Travel and Environment

  • Corus has a hybrid work policy, allowing work to be done remotely; 2-3 days/week minimum in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or weekends as required.
  • This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic business purposes.
  • Must have authorization to work in the country of assignment.
