Job Overview

As a Corporate Accounting Supervisor, you lead a dynamic team of accountants to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to a monthly close schedule. Here are the roles you’ll play:

Roles You Will Play

The Leader

• Supervise and support staff accountants to ensure performance criteria and deadlines are met
• Implement training for new hires and identify training opportunities for current associates
• Recruit and hire accounting associates
• Conduct performance evaluations for the team
• Manage and facilitate monthly close procedures

The Helper

• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports on variances
• Assist with financial and tax audits as well as corporate reporting requirements
• Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures

Building Blocks of Success

• 3 years of accounting experience which must include upper-level work; experience in corporate accounting preferred
• 1 years of accounting supervisory experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of associates, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Macro or Power Query experience preferred)
