Job Overview

As a Corporate UK Staff Accountant II, you ensure proper efficiencies applicable to accounting practices and processes for the UK Corporate Accounting team as well as work closely with other team members within the Accounting department and the company to obtain and/or provide timely financial information. 

Roles You Will Play

The Creator

· Develop and post monthly journal entries and accruals

· Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper reports/documents are provided as needed to support the account balances

· Liaising with a third-party company and internal Tax Department in preparing annual tax returns and VAT returns

· Prepare consolidation workings as necessary for reporting requirements for both external and internal audiences

The Inspector

· Examine and calculate month-end and year-end adjusting entries

· Review and maintain general ledger accounts for reasonableness and accuracy

· Review loan and partnership agreements and assist with due diligence and transaction processing for joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions in the UK

The Right Hand

· Assist with accounting inquiries and special projects, including but not limited to research and implementation of technical accounting and process memos, IFRS checklist

· Assist with explaining budget variances, as well as budget assumptions where required

· Assist with year-end audit requests

· Assist with other ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned, including but not limited to special project budget monitoring, revenue, and agreement trackers, etc.

Building Blocks of Success

· Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Macro or Power Query experience preferred)

· Highly detail oriented and organized in work, strong research skills

· Ability to meet assigned deadlines

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

· Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

· Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

· Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
