The Nutrient Maximizer Strategic Account Manager (NSAM) will be responsible for the relationship and success of key stakeholders in support of the Nutrient Maximizer portfolio. This wide and diverse group of stakeholders includes but is not limited to key retail channel customers, internal sales teams, the US Commercial marketing team, seed company sales and agronomy teams, industry resource groups, and other market influencers. With a strong focus on delivering sales targets aligned with Commercial Unit goals, the NSAM core activities will involve strategic business planning and execution, customer relationship cultivation & development, and support of the larger Corteva crop protection sales teams. Located in targeted geographies across the Midwest, the NSAM will assist in the development of tools, processes, and resources for both internal and external sales teams to rapidly expand the Nutrient Maximizer footprint and market share. The ideal candidate can quickly establish and support key relationships, exhibits proactive and effective communication practices, and identify challenges/opportunities while collaborating to implement results-oriented solutions.

This is a remote position and has the flexibility to be based in the following locations. If hired, you may be required to travel as necessary to support business activities.

Responsibilities:
What we expect from you:

  • Achieves annual sales plan in support of U.S. Commercial goals and drive overall profitability and growth of the sales area (inclusive of profitability and share).
  • Leads annual retail business planning process (in collaboration with TM) to identify business goals for key retailers that align to the district & territory targets.
    • Process to include:
      • A prioritization of retailers based on opportunities
      • Call support plan
      • Sales goals and path to achievement
      • ROI metrics & goals
      • Needs analysis (training, equipment, marcomms, etc.)
      • Relationship support
      • Resource/contract asks
      • Lead the implementation of business plans with tier 1 accounts
      • Support TMs in the execution of business plans with 2nd tier accounts.
    • Serves as a resource for assigned key stakeholder groups (ex: local product concept teams, liaison for PHI, Brevant, MCS, Gov. Affairs) in support of successful product sales and market positioning.
    • Provides feedback based on an understanding of customer needs to the organization on product performance, program effectiveness, and competitive activity. Suggest improvements or alternative tactics to help achieve local and commercial unit goals.
    • Coordinates and collaborates with fellow Nutrient Maximizer sales team to deliver industry-leading support and resources for the portfolio.
    • Accomplishes objectives through others, lead with influence and effectively manage expense budget
    • Establishes strong customer relations and be a present Corteva representative with key customers in the geography on a frequent basis. Continually teaches new and innovative ways to meet the needs of the customer. Ensure that all individuals in the market have the necessary technical skills and information needed to perform.
    • Represents Corteva in various public/private meetings with societal stakeholders and supporters.
    • Facilitates & supports demand creation by utilizing competitive intelligence data and corresponding marketing tactics.
    • Continues to develop professionally by remaining current with new technologies, management innovations, and sales management developments
    • Exhibits and lives out respect for safety & core values.

Qualifications


Requirements:

What do we require from you?

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in a science or agriculture-related field
  • At least 5-7 years of Ag marketing or sales experience
  • Must have demonstrated sales success with expertise in developing and implementing customer business plan to drive growth
  • Knowledge or training in a specialized, technical, or professional discipline such as Agronomy, Plant Science, Marketing, agri-business, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Preferred knowledge of Selling methodology, tools, and techniques of current Corteva Crop Protection products.
  • Must be self-directed, results-oriented, demonstrate interpersonal effectiveness and have a strong command of business/project management to take action and capitalize on opportunities
