This position is Nonexempt. Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half. Support Reagent manufacturing. Conduct investigations on internal nonconformances and customer complaints related to Reagents. Assist in developing/ improving Reagent manufacturing processes and/or products. Major Responsibilities: Design experiments and testing schemes, analyze data, write protocols and reports and present results to a cross-functional team. Must demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills and be a team player. Must possess a BS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with at 2-4 years relevant experience. Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and FDA regulations and audits a plus. Familiar with process and test method validations. Excellent communication skills. Shall be able to perform under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Highlights for this role;
This is an associate scientist position, we do want someone with a science background as future growth in this role will be geared toward a science background. However, the role is strictly documentation and updating documentation around diagnostic products. There is no lab work associated with this position. Activities, would be updating data/information associated to Client diagnostic products.
Education: BS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with at 2-4 years relevant experience. Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and FDA regulations and audits a plus.

Computer system adaptability- This role is entirely computer based and it requires the employee to learn/work in multiple systems
Critical reading- This role has a significant amount of training associated to it which is based on operating procedures, having someone who is able to read and understand an operating procedure is a big plus
Critical thinking- When the answer is not obvious or ambiguous it is important to be able to understand when to ask questions and when to challenge a perceived truth
Attention to detail- We are dealing with a moderate amount of data that has impact to final product so errors need to be minimized and caught ahead of implementation
Self-Driven- The workflow here is a person is assigned a product and all the activities associated to that product should be driven by them, meaning following up with different groups to get their portion done and elevating to management when that is not the case.
Good organization- We update a lot of trackers so good organization and ability to follow the routine is important.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Microbiology Lab Technician
Made microbiological media according to USP methods and current SOPs.
Poured agar plates and stored them properly.
Inoculated media using different bacteria as needed.
Autoclaved media and containers.
Cleaned glassware and stored them according to size.
Cleaned autoclaves daily.
Ensured incubators were at the desired temperatures daily.
Used spectrometer in addition to dilutions to know bacteria loads.
Prepared serial dilutions and plated several dilutions, counting them accurately.
Entered counts using Excel.
Parasitology Lab Technician
Make zinc sulfate solution used for testing fecal samples.
Build loads for ova, parasite and giardia testing.
Test samples for occult blood and parvovirus, release results in a timely manner.
Study microscope slides and record results of the presence of parasites or the absence thereof.
Check to ensure all samples were tested daily.
Note samples which need additional tests and perform them in a timely manner.
Perform giardia testing using the ELx800 by Biotek and release results the same day.
Additional duties as assigned.
Lab Technician
Made microbiological media and performed sterility and growth promotion on each batch according to USP methods.
Cleaned glassware and water baths as necessary.
Recorded temperatures of incubators, changing as necessary, to ensure proper growth of organisms.
Autoclaved and disposed of used media as needed.
Microbiologist
Made microbiological media and performed sterility and growth promotion on each batch according to USP methods.
Analyzed water, raw materials, swab samples, and finished products using USP methods and documented results.
Performed microbial challenge of preservatives on finished products.
Participated in the inventory of controlled substances.
Autoclaved and disposed of used media as necessary.
Trained lab technicians in the preparation of media and water testing.
Supervised all new lab technicians and performed weekly evaluation reports on their achievements.
Performed weekly and monthly environmental monitoring of lab and production areas.
Lab Technician
Logged in high volume samples keeping accurate date, time, specimen owner.
Refrigerated all samples and monitored refrigeration temperatures.
Accurately entered all data using Excel.
