Description

Corrigan Krause is a leading CPA & Consulting firm specializing in tax and advisory services. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SALT Manager/Senior Manager to join our dynamic team to establish and build out our SALT practice. The SALT Manager/Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of state and local tax compliance, planning, and consulting for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. They should also demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and deliver high-quality services to our clients.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

· Develop and manage the SALT practice, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure high-quality deliverables and professional development.

· Review and analyze state and local tax returns, including income, franchise, sales and use, and property tax filings, to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

· Advise clients on state and local tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits.

· Stay updated on changes in state and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, and communicate these updates to the team and clients as needed.

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SALT practice.

· Collaborate with other departments and professionals within the firm to provide comprehensive tax solutions to clients.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique business needs and providing tailored tax services and solutions.

· Assist in business development efforts by participating in client meetings, presentations, and proposals to expand the firm's SALT practice.

· Ensure compliance with professional standards, ethics, and firm policies in all engagements.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master's degree in taxation is preferred.

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) license is required.

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in state and local taxation, preferably in a public accounting firm.

· Extensive knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide innovative solutions.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to clients and team members.

· Proven experience managing and leading teams, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

· Proficiency in tax research tools and software (e.g., CCH, RIA Checkpoint, BNA).

· Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
