Subject Area/Teaching Field Endorsement/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Montessori Teaching certificate preferred. We are open to candidates who do not have Montessori certification but are familiar with Montessori methodology and philosophy and are willing to undergo training the summer after their first year.
• At least three years of teaching experience, preferably in Montessori education.
• Knowledge of and buy in to Montessori theory and practice.
• Generalist Educator comfortable with all subjects including social-emotional.
• An innovative problem solver.
• Enjoys teaching middle school and upper elementary children.
• An effective communicator with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and others both verbally and in writing.
• Collaborative in nature/a team player.
• Confident.
• Flexible.
• A sense of humor.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Willing to work alongside an assistant secondary/co-teacher.
• Maintain proximity to students while outside.

• Demonstrate a positive work attitude and can establish and maintain excellent relationships with staff, parents, and students.
• Have great classroom management.
• Demonstrate the tracking of student progress.
• Dedication to demonstrate philosophy and methodology of “children come first” and appropriately applied to the age-level taught.
• Successful utilization of key Montessori concepts into practice. One of which is – meet the child where they are and move forward.
• Work closely and collaboratively with other Middle School team members.
• Ability to work well with a diverse group of students and parents, and to work as a TEAM PLAYER within the school community to create a strong professional learning environment.
• Strong work ethic with excellent communication and presentation skills. Creative, inspirational, self-directed, positive, and committed with a “can-do attitude”.
• Willing to learn from and work well with fellow faculty members.
• Understand the importance of TEKS and implementing the within the curriculum.
